“Two Fifty hails from the granite state and is a regular favorite and award winner in the Portsmouth Chowder Festival.”
Dubbed Yankee Magazine’s top event of the season, this year’s Chowdafest was a success, and is notably one of New England’s best soup and chowder competitions. This year, the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel’s very own Brandon Marchie from their Two Fifty Market restaurant was part of the 40 award winning chefs and restaurants who participated in the competition to take the prize of best chowder, soup, or bisque.
Attendees got to be the judges, and were able to enjoy unlimited sampling which they ultimately ranked, among the following categories: Traditional Chowders, Creative Chowder, Soup/Bisque, and Classic New England Clam Chowder, which Two Fifty Market competed in.
Earlier in the summer, the restaurant won first place (for the second time in a row) for the judge’s choice award at Portsmouth’s Chowderfest for best New England Clam Chowder. At the Chowdafest competition, Two Fifty Market earned the second place title. “We take chowder very seriously as does all of New England and we will bring our best to show others that New Hampshire does chowder best like so many other things we do here in the state,” said Tristan Harris, Sheraton Portsmouth’s general manager.
